Dental crowns are colour matched caps that are carefully and securely placed on top of your existing teeth. If your teeth are damaged, weakened through tooth decay, or have been broken through trauma, dental crowns can provide an aesthetically pleasing, and naturally functioning solution that will look and feel just like your natural teeth.

Dental crowns offer a strong and long-lasting solution as well as a pleasing natural aesthetic. Your dentist may use them to restore the strength and appearance of weak and damaged teeth, or to cover unattractive fillings or teeth with significant discolouration. If you need a replacement for missing teeth, a dental crown can be used in conjunction with a dental implant.
In order to ensure a good fit and bond, the first step your dentist will take will be to painstakingly remove a thin layer of enamel from your damaged tooth. They will then take a precise impression, which will be used to craft your new crown. Your dentist will fit a temporary crown to wear whilst you’re waiting and once they have checked the fit of your permanent crown; it will be securely cemented into place.
