What are the benefits of dental crowns?

  • Dental crowns offer a strong and enduring solution
  • Each crown is carefully colour-matched to your natural teeth
  • Crowns can reinstate the shape, size and aesthetics of your natural smile

Renewed beauty and strength

Dental crowns offer a strong and long-lasting solution as well as a pleasing natural aesthetic. Your dentist may use them to restore the strength and appearance of weak and damaged teeth, or to cover unattractive fillings or teeth with significant discolouration. If you need a replacement for missing teeth, a dental crown can be used in conjunction with a dental implant.

Your dental crown procedure

In order to ensure a good fit and bond, the first step your dentist will take will be to painstakingly remove a thin layer of enamel from your damaged tooth. They will then take a precise impression, which will be used to craft your new crown. Your dentist will fit a temporary crown to wear whilst you’re waiting and once they have checked the fit of your permanent crown; it will be securely cemented into place.
